textures.

Hey! So once upon a time, I posted a blog where I told you all that I have this weird obsession with textures. I’m sitting at a U. News rehearsal not doing what I’m supposed to, so I’m going to explain it now because I figured it’d be a good time. You’ll enjoy it (I hope).

Though I’m not sure why, since the beginning of my time as a living person, I have hated styrofoam and chalk. I just do. I hate them. I can’t touch them. It makes me sick to my stomach to even look at them. No clue why. It just does. The texture freaks me out. As I grew up, I discovered more things that I don’t like to touch, look at, or even eat. Some weird things I don’t like to touch (or even look at) include emery boards (you know, the nail file things), pumas (is that how you spell that? I think so?) stones (my mom used to use these things. gross), sponges (the real ones that come from the sea; not the fake ones like loofa’s, they’re fine), plywood, glass edges (like; raw edges? Does that make sense? If it doesn’t let me know.. I’ll put a picture or something on here), raw cotton (cotton balls aren’t THAT bad; but like, cotton from the plants before it’s been like.. “treated” you know?), polyester (I was born in 1992. Not 1962. I do NOT need to see “poly blend” on labels in Rue 21. It’s just unnecessary), twinkies (yeah. I the spongey-creamy mess? No thanks.) gummi worms (they’re delish, but they make my teeth hurt. I can’t bite them).

That’s the majority of my story about textures that are just awkward. If I think of any more, I’ll let you know.

Also: It rained today. I hate how rain smells. And fresh cut grass. Just thought you should know.

it's julia and kristin! we're just getting ready to go hang out with some friends. we're doing what we so affectionately call a "ho shower". this name is NOT meant to be offensive or degrading or whatever in the least! we bring my speakers and ipod into the public bathroom on the floor in our dorm and blast music, shower at the same time, then do our hair and makeup together in the big bathroom! we are a little ridiculous and it's SO super fun!  look forward to a youtube video about this stuff!(:

Soooo Kristin mentioned this in one of our videos and I thought it was something thats extremely important to understanding me, so I'll explain my husbands.  I am a pretty big creep when it comes to famous guys that are attractive, especially when they are really talented *cough* Tom Brady *cough cough*
So I talk about these guys, and call them my husbands, I know that we aren't married now, nor will we ever actually get married however I still like to call them my husbands.  People judge me for it including some of my best friends, but thats totally okay because I love my husbands, wayyyyy too much.

Julia's Introduction!

Soo I'm Julia, and I'm one half of LoveUsAlot, the other half is my sort of wonderful friend named Kristin.
Well I'm supposed to be writing an introduction to myself, and sort of my point of view from LoveUsAlot so I'll tell you how this all started.  Kristin and I went through some severe separation problems this spring break because we live super far apart when we aren't in dorms.  So this was the first time since we became legit friends that we weren't able to scream down the hall to figure out what to wear  on the weekends.  Then I was on facebook one day and I wanted to tell her something but i had to show her a magazine to make the story make sense.  I was mad because I knew I would forget this story by time spring break was over so I decided to make a video to her, then we made videos to each other for the rest of the week, so take this note for people in long distance friendships, make lots of videos to each other.  They are completely ridiculous and people will hate on you for doing it but as long as you're having fun then whatever they say doesn't matter at all! Besides if people are taking the time to hate on you then they obviously spent the time watching your videos so they've got to be at least sort of entertaining.
Anyway so me and Kristin are freshmen in college, and first semester we knew each other but we didn't really hang out.  Then second semester we started to hang out a lot and realized that we're really dumb, funny,  obnoxious, and completely ridiculous when we're together.  As she said we can't live together next year because we'll probably kill each other and that would just be sad for the entire world to lose 1 half of the people that it loves a lot.
So now onto much more important stuff, as in the stuff about me.  I'm Julia and I'm from Staten Island Ny, so kinda the opposite of Kristin being from a tiny town but we're really similar. So I'm a double major in Political Science and Contemporary Media and Journalism with an emphasis in Journalism.  I want to go to law school after college, so that's what I want to do with my life, pretty much wanna be like a brunette version of legally blonde.  Cheesy and ridiculous? probably but I'm totally ok with that :)
ok so now onto the fun things about my life, I'm a total girly girl except for a few things the big things are baseball and basketball.  I'm absolutely OBSESSED with the New York Yankees, as in I read yankee blogs, watch almost every game, and I check stats all the time.  People always tell me blah blah blah they have the highest payroll, you're a bandwagon fan, you don't actually care about baseball or know anything about it.  That's probably the most annoying thing that people say about me, because it totally annoys me because its not true at all.
So random facts about Julia

• I'm obsessed with Brett Gardner, who is the left fielder of the Yankees so if you don't know him then go google and become a fan of his life hes pretty amazing
• I love love love the Boston Celtics, and I'm insanely excited for the future of Rajon Rondo
• My 8 homepages on google chrome are facebook, textsfromlastnight, riveraveblues, espn, cnn, perezhilton, and the ny times.  That pretty sums up whats most important to me.
• I'm a huge Harry Potter nerd, not that huge that i dress up for the midnight releases of books but I do go to the midnight releases of them...oops.
• I hate wearing sweatpants when its remotely nice out, as soon as its spring I just want to wear dresses everyday. 
• I am a really messy person in most of the things that I do except for my itunes, my itunes has to be perfectly organized as in all of the artists have to be spelled the correct way.  You know when certain artists are spelled differently so they look weird, yeah that drives me absolutely crazy.
• So now for the music, I am absolutely obsessed with cheesy pop music and I love to dance to ridiculous music.  Then theres the music I like to listen to thats just like chill kind of music kinda like the maine, cute is what we aim for, the script and thriving ivory.
• People tell me that I'm kind of obsessive about everything because once I get into something i get really into it, like i can't just sort of like things.  
• Things that people do really bother me like theyre usually little things but I just find them really irritating, but I'm a really tolerant person so I don't let it bother me usually.
• I love bright colors so much I don't like wearing boring colors even during the winter which seems to bother people i dont know why though.
• One of my favorite people EVER is Paris Hilton, she's just a fun girl and she's really quotable 
• I can talk to anyone about pretty much anything because I kinda just like to talk
• My favorite movies are pretty much legally blonde, the bring it on movies, mean girls, rent and the blind side.  I love a lot of movies though so I'm sure that I'm missing a bunch of the important ones

So that's pretty much all you need to know about me for now :)

Well, hey!

My name is Kristin and I'm one half of LoveUsAlot! The other half is my wonderful friend Julia who will write her own introduction blog so you can learn a little about her, too!

So, I'm supposed to write a little something about me to sortof explain who we (LoveUsAlot) are and maybe a little about who I am too. who knows.

Well. I’m not sure exactly where to start, SO I’ll start at the beginning. I think. Julia and I met because we live on the same floor at college. People constantly ask us if we're roommates or if we're going to be roommates next year (because we're planning on living on the same floor again) but, we're not. We would most definitely kill each other. AND our room would look like hollister and walt disney threw up after eating a disco ball with sprinkles. yeah. THAT obnoxious. Julia is one of my favorite people ever. She can always make me laugh, and we have a weird connection. We say we have the same brain sometimes. We’re going places(: anyway. We have a lot of fun just hanging out and being ridiculous and we think that other people might enjoy watching us be ridiculous together as well. i don't really know what we are. but that's pretty much the sotry of we. Or of us. Some of our favorite things are facebooking, making people laugh, and getting caught in the most awkward situations. Well. Okay.. that’s not really a favorite; it just happens all too often. That’s a little about us: LoveUsAlot. Which. You should. You should love us a lot. Because we’re great(;

Next, I’ll explain me a little(: I’m Kristin. I’m from a tiny town in South Dakota. I’m an only child. I’m a contemporary media journalism major with emphases in public relations and electronic media. I plan to pursue a career in the news broadcasting field. A few campus organizations I’m involved in include cheerleading, campus news, campus radio, and Lost And Found (a phenomenal non-profit started by one of my closest, dearest, best friends in the entire world. Everyone reading this needs to check it out. Anyway; other important things in my life are my friends and my family. I would do anything to make them smile(: this is NOT a cheesy blog. It just won’t be. But, it’s true. My family is made up of (think cheesy kindergarten diagram, please) my mom, her boyfriend, my grandparents, and my awesome dog Tyra. (I’ll add some pictures soon) They are all wonderful and I love them to death(:

I love having fun wherever I am, whoever I’m with, no matter what people think of me(:

Fun facts:

-my favorite colors are orange, lime green, hot pink, and electric blue.

-I still love ‘90s music like LFO and Britney Spears.

-I love grilled cheese sandwiches, post-its, and laughing too loud; I don’t like tomatoes, love handles, or styrofoam.

-I listen to legitly every genre of music; don’t judge me(:

-I love things that smell like coconut though the texture of real coconut kinda freaks me out. I have an obsession with textures. It’s a huge deal. Ask me about it sometime, I can talk about it for hours.

-college basketball sortof takes over my life. I bleed tarheel blue. I’m also an intense cowboys fan(:

-sometimes I say inappropriate things. I just do. I’ll never actually want to punch a baby. But I’ll say it. I promise.

-swimming is my favorite!

-I was in FCCLA in high school and I miss it way more than I should.

-I think pearls are pretty.

-stumbleupon and facebook keep me from doing homework more than anything; and I love it.

-I have this weird inability to touch my bellybutton or have anyone else touch it. I don’t understand it- it just bothers me.

-oompa loompas are one of my biggest fears along with not being successful and having ugly children.

-I HATE when people press the crosswalk button and stop the cars when they don’t need to. Also, I think everyone should just ALWAYS walk on THEIR right side of the sidewalk/hallway. Like how we drive. Simplifies everything, I think.

-I shop. A lot. Especially for shoes. More than I should. Especially for a college student. Oops.

-I like to golf a lot. I’m not very good, but its lots of fun(:

-I love the movies Stranger Than Fiction, Rent, Step Brothers, and Law Abiding Citizen.

-I like lists, but, this blog is getting kindof long. It’s not okay. Don’t want to be boring. SO:
